Portugal

This was the first of many more trips I've ever taken with my mom alone and probably one of the best trips I've ever been on. I'm so happy and grateful I had the chance to spend my 26th birthday in Portugal with no one other than my mama - also she is such a fun travel partner!

Anyway Portugal was beautiful left and right. The buildings had so much character, and I love love love all the tiling details. We stayed in Lisbon, and took day trips to Sintra, Fatima, Obidos, and Cascais. The food was so cheap, and getting around with out a car is really easy.

I would definitely go back....especially for pastel de natas and cheap green wine :)

26

I'll be 26 next week ... ew! Spent the weekend with Keith (as I normally do, ha!) and he took me out for some "early birthday" fun since I'll be in Portugal for my actual birthday. We went to check out an exhibit, had Japanese bbq at Gyu-gaku, and watched Fantastic Beasts.

I really liked Fantastic Beasts. I also really really like Gyu-gaku. Also, I really liked this weekend! It was so chill, and the weather was wonderful except for Saturday night. Saturday night we stopped by Queens for a "friendsgiving" party, and going home we got caught in some hail - which was awful.

Anyway, that is all.

Fall Stuff

I love fall - not only do I love the weather, but it's also my birthday season! Anyway some quick highlights since I last blogged (which was quite a while ago):

- Turning 26 next month!
- Going to Portugal next month!
- I was suppose to see a Drake concert earlier this month but that got postponed due to his ankle (ugh)
- I got new couch pillows (thanks Keith)
- Cava Grill opened up near my apt, and I've been eating that almost every night
- I'm craving french fries all day every day
- Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is a kick-ass movie!
- Black Mirrors is an AMAZING show!
- I'm re-watching One Tree Hill

ATHLEISURE CRAZE

I've recently fallen into the "athleisure" hype and have splurged on gym gear. Zara recently came out with a gym line which I AM OBSESSED WITH. It's not only affordable but also well made and comfortable. I can't express how much I love the leggings!! I also just bought a gym bag from Mz Wallace - I'm already wanting another one.

In the streets of San Franciso

I went to San Francisco for the first time in May with my boyfriend and friends. The weather was like a Katy Perry song...hot and cold. We went to all the main attractions - Fisherman's Wharf, Red Woods, Japan Town, Golden Gate Bridge...and more. Partied at all the gay bars - which was interesting. The food was bomb, especially the food trucks. My favorite had to be the Senor Sisig food truck, however the night I tried it I had a bad case of indigestion.

Anyway, summer is nearly over. Tomorrow is the first day of August - and to be honest I'm excited for the weather to wind down. New York City has been suffering from a heat wave these past few weeks and I'm sick of it. The streets stink! I avoid taking the train every chance I get.

I got an air bed for my apartment recently. Movie night has gotten ten times better ever since. I might watch Nerve later.

I'm contemplating getting a personal trainer. I'm also contemplating going to Lisbon, Portugal with my mother for my 26th birthday.

Quarter Lyfe

Threw my boyfriend a surprise birthday at the beautiful NoMad hotel two weeks ago. It was splendid. I recently canceled my Photoshop subscription because I'm broke *cries*, so I'm using this free photo editing app which is making me lazy to continue editing the 100+ more blurry pics taken by my tipsy self that day. Anyway it's the fourth of july!! New York City has never been so empty...

Blue Skies

It was raining all of last week, so it was nice to see some blue skies over the weekend. I watched Captain America in 4dx - it wasn't working at first so at the end of the movie we received free tickets to see another 4dx movie (yay). Personally it gave me a headache and I felt like I was watching a movie in a massage chair. Also Captain America was boring.

Besides watching a 4dx movie, I binged watched a Japanese reality television show called Terrace House on Netflix. I finished all of season 1, part 1. Can't wait until they release season 1, part 2. It's entertaining - and it's kind of like the real world except the polite version. It took almost 10 episodes for two of the housemates to finally kiss.

Champagne For My Real Friends, Real Pain For My Sham Friends

Had brunch at Narcissa yesterday - it was delicious! I really liked the carrot fries. I once attempted to make carrot fries, but it definitely didn't come out as good as Narcissa's did. After my friends & I walked the Brooklyn Bridge which was annoyingly crowded, so we only walked up to the middle - which was a struggle considering I almost got run over by a million bikes and runners. From there we went to ChiKaLicious for dessert, and shared a churro cone. It was messy, but so yummy. Then went to Snow Days - and shared the yeti ice cream. The spoons turned blue when it touches the ice cream, which is pretty cool.

Last night was also Keith's friends birthday - which was fun. He hosted it at really chic looking airbnb in China Town. I've been really digging Future lately. Especially the song "low life".

I booked a ticket to San Francisco for memorial day weekend. I can't wait to get out of New York. It's so dirty - I can't deal. This morning I walked around with Keith looking for breakfast and saw tons of garbage on the streets. Yuck. I'm suppose to get dinner with Eliza later at Black Tap, some restaurant which supposedly has amazing burgers but there is always a long line - so I'm not sure if I have enough energy to deal with that.
